This 2024 Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s in Unburst is built around the classic early-'60s Les Paul recipe: a non-weight-relieved mahogany body, AA figured maple top, SlimTaper mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets. It has the unmistakable feel of a proper Les Paul, but with the slightly slimmer, faster neck profile that makes the 60s version especially comfortable for players who don't want a baseball bat attached to the body.
A pair of 60s Burstbucker humbuckers provides the voice, with Alnico 5 magnets, individual volume and tone controls, and hand-wired electronics with Orange Drop capacitors. The result is everything you'd expect from a good Les Paul: warm cleans, thick rhythm tones, plenty of bite from the bridge, and enough sustain to give you time to reconsider your life choices between notes.
And then there's the Unburst finish. It gives the guitar that beautifully faded, vintage-inspired look without requiring you to spend the next 50 years standing it in front of a sunny window.
