The EarthQuaker Devices Blumes Low Signal Shredder is an all-analog, three-mode overdrive built specifically with bass in mind. It takes inspiration from the classic screamer-style circuit, then gives it more gain, deeper low-frequency response, and a ton of headroom so your sound gets meaner without suddenly becoming smaller.
The controls are simple — Level, Tone, and Gain — but the three-way clipping switch gives the pedal a surprisingly wide range of personalities. You can go from open and crunchy, to a clean OpAmp boost, to warmer and fuzzier asymmetrical clipping, all while keeping the low end intact.
And yes, despite the bass-first design, it also works very well with guitar, especially for down-tuned rigs that need more weight without sacrificing articulation.
